It’s Fall. You know that this means winter is just a few weeks away. You know that this also means you need to take care of your car before the cold temperatures hit your town. Some might assume that they have time. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. You never know when that first big storm will arrive. You can’t afford to wait on taking care of auto repair!
Which brings us to the main topic of discussion. Here are three auto repair tips on how to take care of your car before those winter months hit.
1) Your auto repair shop needs to put on winter tires. Winter tires are different than all the others. They will keep you going in all sorts of weather. Check the pressure on the tires too. The air pressure should be the stated psi for the best driving. An over or under inflated tire could be the cause of an accident. It’s better to be safe, rather than sorry.
2) Have your auto repair shop check out your car battery. It might be okay now, but things will change in cold temperatures. Be sure your battery is completely new and full before the winter months hit. It’s amazing how many leave this to the last minute. Then they end up paying big bucks to get their battery replaced.
3) Check your anti-freeze. If you have followed all the normal schedules in the summer months prior, then you should be good to go. Have someone from your auto repair shop check it out, just to be sure. Most of the newer model cars should be fine. They are typically good for 150,000 miles or 5 years, which ever comes first.
